Houston Energy + Climate Startup Week Returns, Bringing the Innovation Community Together

The third annual Houston Energy + Climate Startup Week returns September 14-18, reflecting Houston's growing role as the global destination where energy innovations are developed, tested, and scaled.

The future of energy will not be built by one company, one technology, or one sector. It will be built through collaboration among startups, industry leaders, investors, researchers, and policymakers working together to solve some of the world's biggest challenges.

There is no better place for that collaboration than Houston.

What began as a collaborative effort among a handful of organizations has grown into a city-wide initiative powered by dozens of partners, each contributing to a shared vision: showcasing how Houston is developing and deploying solutions that address the dual challenge of meeting growing global energy demand while advancing lower-carbon energy systems.

In 2025, Houston Energy + Climate Startup Week welcomed more than 3,900 attendees across more than 30 events, featuring over 145 speakers and more than 290 startups. Throughout the week, founders met with investors, corporations explored emerging technologies, researchers connected with commercialization partners, and entrepreneurs built relationships that extended far beyond the week's events.

Those connections are what distinguish Houston. The city offers more than a place to pitch ideas. It provides an environment where startups can work directly with customers, validate technologies, secure investment, and scale solutions alongside some of the world's largest energy companies.

This year's Houston Energy + Climate Startup Week will once again feature a diverse lineup of pitch competitions, startup showcases, workshops, networking events, technical discussions, and investor programming hosted across the city. Together, these independently organized events create one coordinated week that celebrates Houston's collaborative approach to innovation.

Organizations across the energy and climate ecosystem are invited to host events and contribute to this growing movement. Every event strengthens Houston's reputation as the place where innovation becomes impact.
